Maybe she is at church.

Seriously, though, Barna's book, "Revolution," offers a number of insights into the church/unchurched divide as well as the Christian/non-Christian divide (they are not identical). He states that there are many Christians that are genuinely seeking to follow Jesus that don't attend a formally organized church (though they may attend a house church). The point is simply that church attendance does not necessarily equate to our success in Jesus' final command to "make disciples."

As a church planter of nine years, I am not anti-church. I do recognize, however, that there are those who attend church that are not becoming more like Jesus and there are those who are growing that don't attend a church on Sunday mornings. Of course I believe a Christian without a faith community is like a quarterback without a football team. Following Jesus is a team thing.

Yes, we suck. Yes, I suck. Yes, the church I lead sucks. Fortunately, Jesus doesn't. My daily prayer is that I would decrease and that He would increase—in my life, church, city, nation, and world. I pray that this new blog would stimulate all of us in such a way that enables us to suck less. Thanks for launching it, Vince.

P.S.
