"Pop" is a great read.

Books I've read this year that I'd recommend would include: "The Go-Giver" - "You don't need a title to be a leader" - "leadership and self-deception" - "dear church" - "the organic god" - I've read a few others that I wouldn't necessarily recommendTravis Thompsonhttp://blueroomworthy.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2253529165034405240.post-87593301249366395762008-05-03T10:54:00.000-04:002008-05-03T10:54:00.000-04:00"Lousy t-shirt book" by well, you. Before you say..."Lousy t-shirt book" by well, you. Before you say, "Aw shucks, I wasn't fishing for compliments", let me tell you why I say this.
Someone recently pointed out to me that was an encourager -- a "Barnabas" to use his words. While that's not something that comes to mind when asked to described myself, I suppose I do seek out ways to lift people up. The problem is, I always know what I want to convey, but so often what's on my heart loses so much in translation when it comes out of my mouth.
In the past few days, I have e-mailed passages from your book to several of my friends. Here are a couple of comments:
("God is twenty-one"): WOW, thank you. What a great day this will be! We truly appreciate these encouraging words. God is good to us and faithful regardless of who we are but just because we are his, we have his outpouring love daily. This sounds like a great book!"
("Teddy Bear from the attic"): "I printed out the teddy bear email you sent me to read. Thank you. I needed that. I can relate to every single word of it. I am going to get that book right now."
Not only could I relate to just about every story in this book, it has given me the nudge I needed to give voice to my own stories so that I might share on a very personal level how love and grace continues to transform me daily, even when I make a mess of things. I ordered a case of these books from Baker. When I've given them all away, I'll order another one!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2253529165034405240.post-7382812043015267652008-05-03T09:58:00.000-04:002008-05-03T09:58:00.000-04:00"Pop Goes the Church" by Tim Stevens."Pop Goes the Church" by Tim Stevens.patricksieverthttp://patricksievert.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
