I met some people there (mostly other aspiring comics) and eventually the conversation turned to "why are you doing comedy" I explained "I want to work on my stage fright to help with my ministry" some people shut me out at that point but some still talked to me one even invited me to the bar to share some fries with him and we had a awesome spiritual conversation and others joined, there was no finger pointing on either side and I left amazed with what God had done with my little aspirations. so I'm thinking maybe start with either comedy or a sketch that anyone could enjoy to break the ice and show you are no different from them and that you are not just there to "sell" them on Christ.IGGIhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15801501232877687223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2253529165034405240.post-53358261438583474422008-04-30T10:34:00.000-04:002008-04-30T10:34:00.000-04:00I know I'm probably not telling you anything you d...I know I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know, but people are drawn to what they are familiar with. I've sung on worship teams and I've sung in bars. When someone comes to a church building, they expect to hear songs about Jesus. Not so much in a bar. There are secular songs that I consider (at least to me) to be songs of praise. The first one that comes to mind is "Home" by Chris Daughtrey. There's another lesser known song by Natalie Merchant called "I may know the word" that is just down right convicting, especially to those of us who struggle to "live the Jesus life". I won't take up more space than I already have on your blog, but I'll e-mail the lyrics to your e-mail at Forefront. Your church is boldly seeking out ways to engage the lost into the community of God and you can absolutely count on the fact that I am praying for you guys!katdishhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09210738418270395622noreply@blogger.com
