Another question someone asked me to blog about is how Forefront connects new people past the worship service... Well, as I've recently admitted, we don't have great systems. If you want to really learn a great system for doing this, read Launch.
What do we do? We ask new people to fill out a connection card. If they do we have someone call them who thanks them for coming and we send them a: a welcome letter, a Vision Sermon C.D., and some informational brochures about our church. When our next Starting Point class comes along we will e-mail or call and personally invite them to attend.
At our service and in the letter and brochures we send and in the Starting Point class we will encourage people to get into a Small Group.
We also have a Welcome Table in the lobby where people can meet someone and ask questions if they want.
And ... that's about it.

Explain your Vision Sermon CD. Is it just audio of a message you gave?
Vince,
Thanks for the link to my book! I also wanted to let you and your readers know that I have a ton of free assimilation resources at this site:
http://www.churchleaderinsights.com/fusion/
This is the website for my book Fusion (which is all about Assimilation - I know, I know, Assimilation isn't the prettiest word...in fact, I prefer "Biblical Hospitality"). You don't have to buy the book to get all the freebies!
Thanks again!
Nelson

jake: yeah, it's an audio of a message. after a few year of FF i thought it would be good to have a cd to send people (and on our web site) that tells our story and our vision. so we did a special service (on our anniversary) where we cleared out extra room for me to preach, and i went like 50 minutes (35 is normal). if you want to hear it, it's the last sermon down at the bottom of our current message page, which you can go to here:
